This summer the Mayor of North Walsham, Sallie Stuckey, and Deputy Mayor Mary Seward, visited the team at Ladbrook.
Here is Michael Peake showing them around the factory floor.
The Mayor recognised the longevity of the business in North Walsham which has been providing employment for many local people over that time (see our Facebook post about one of them), and also the determination of everyone working in the company to make it succeed.
Ladbrook are always looking to strengthen their position in the UK manufacturing sector and recent restructuring of the management team has been part of that continual evolution. With an increasingly diverse client base, both in the UK and overseas, it is important to remain flexible and demonstrate a willingness to adapt to a client’s need.
Patrick Johnson is now a director of the company and has joined the board of Ladbrook Manufacturing as Works Director. With 30 years of service Patrick has seen many phases in the evolution of the company and is excited about the future: “We have made large scale investment on the factory floor in complimentary techniques to our core business, and strategic changes to our sales and marketing structure, all of which are reaping rewards. Ladbrook has been in positive transition for some time as we look to position the business to take on new challenges, in particular the use of different materials. The management restructure is a natural progression of our ongoing commitment to our clients and employees.”
Mark Greenwood with 39 years of service has been promoted to Works Manager and Michael Peake 12 years of service, is now Commercial Manager. In all, 75 years of experience are taking the helm of the business and are supported by 3rd generation family member Jane Turrell who continues to manage company finances.
While other businesses in the manufacturing sector have suffered from the trend of out sourcing to Asia and the economic downturn of recent years, Ladbrook has continued to grow. This ability to respond to changing client needs and markets is proving successful.
Ladbrook Manufacturing is celebrating success following the awarding of new contracts in two new industry sectors, further expanding our diverse client base.
Pressed Metal Parts
Over the company’s long history, Ladbrook Manufacturing have developed a wide and varied range of standard press tools, such flexibility has allowed Ladbrook to both tender and win the business for the supply of new pressed metal parts to be used in the steel fencing and gates industry. The client was looking for a quick delivery period that would not have been possible had Ladbrook not had the press tools for the job. Please feel free to visit our Pressed Metal Parts page for more information.
Following the recent update on the Metal Spinning page, Ladbrook Manufacturing has also won a highly valued contract for the supply of metal Floor Stands that are produced on our PNC spinning machine. This was in complete contrast to the Pressed Metal Parts contract, as this part required new tooling and development to get the products into production, all of which were manufactured onsite to our customer’s exacting specification and required lead time. If you wish to discuss your Metal Spinning requirements then please do not hesitate to get in contact with us.
These new contracts further demonstrate that Ladbrook have a proactive approach to finding new industries to grow and develop with.
Please do not hesitate to contact us on 01692 402 156 to discuss your requirements.
Recent investment has seen both the internal and external improvement of logistic controls within North Walsham based Ladbrook Manufacturing.
The arrival of 2 new Forklift Trucks, a 2 Tonne Caterpillar Counterbalance truck and a CESAB 1200kg Pedestrian-Operated truck, have, in conjunction with the revised factory lay-out and newly located stores area, shown a marked improvement in internal journeys and efficiencies.
Ladbrook has also invested in upgrading its IT Computer Systems, ensuring we are providing a faster more responsive service with Ladbrook Suite, our bespoke computer system. This has continued to evolve and adapt to the ever changing demands of our day-to-day business.
Furthermore Ladbrook Manufacturing has invested in 2 new vans! The first is a Mercedes Sprinter – long wheelbase van, and the second a Mercedes Citan. These new additions have replaced the previous lorry, and greatly improve Ladbrook’s logistical response by ensuring we can deliver to all of our customers, whether it is a scheduled weekly or monthly drop, or a daily kan-ban direct to the production line feed.
With more and more customers adopting a JIT strategy the need for a versatile and reactive service is vital and we continue to meet the demands of modern manufacturing and assembly.
These improvements will ensure that Ladbrook continues to improve its efficiencies and performance, to meet our customer delivery targets and deadlines, and give our customers what they want, when they want it.
